School Tomorrow!!

I already made a post today, however I'm making another one because it was about my journey here, this post will be about my day.

Today after waking up, 아빠 Appa (Dad) made me (계란 볶음밥 Gyeran Bokkeumbap) egg fried rice. Afterwards, he had to leave for work, he works out of town during the week usually. 옴마 Omma took me to get a PCR test and to get my school uniform. My jacket is being tailored so I will get that tomorrow. After that, Omma, 한길 Hangil (my brother) and I went to the grocery store and we got some food. Then we made our way home and had lunch. After we ate, 옴마 started teaching me 한굴 Hangul Korean Language. I spent much of the rest of the day studying, trying to memorize 한굴. Eventually I took a brake and went for a walk around the apartment complexes (don't worry Korea is one of the safest countries in the entire world). After I felt rested, I continued my studies. Sometime later. 한길 told me that dinner was ready, we ate a pork stew with rice and kimchi. Of course, after I had finished eating, I started studing again. I needed to memorize 한굴 because tomorrow I begin learning grammar.

Yesterday, I got a new sim cards, so my new phone number is +82 10-5011-0105 in case you ever needed it.

I'm tired so I'm probably going to go to bed, good night.

I've Made It!!!

It was soon after I made my last post that I departed Sault Ste. Marie on my flight to Toronto. Everything had gone well until that point, but then I was delayed by Air Canada for 40 minutes which was long enough for me to miss my flight to Korea from Toronto Pearson. I'd already gotten on the plane when I realized this, so when I got to Toronto I had to seek help from staff. I was then booked for a similar flight with Korean Airlines the next day at noon. A hotel was booked for me so I could sleep while I waited, then in the morning I was back on my way. I safely arrived in Korea yesterday and I was greeted by my host family, host club members, and Alva who is an exchange student from Sweden. My club took me out to eat and then we went home. I met my host brother Hangil, and 아빠 Appa (Dad). I have my own bedroom which I'm really excited about. Things are going nicely now and I am so excited for the coming months.

P.S. Air Canada is a pain!!

The Beginning of My Journey, Bon voyage, and Farewell!

The time is 3:04am as of me writing this and I just can't sleep. "Why?' you ask, well I'd say it's due to a little mix of excitement and anxious nervousness caused by the fact that I take off from the Sault St. Airport in a little under an hour!! Man does it all feel even more real now 😁😓😁😓😁. I still can't believe I'm embarking on this amazing journey, that'll last almost a year, a months and months away from home in a country on the other side of the world. It's exciting and horrifying and it's all thanks to the Rotary Youth Exchange Program as well as the supportive Sault Ste. Marie North Club who is sponsoring me in this endeavor.

At 11am tomorrow I'm scheduled to depart the Sault and fly a little over an hour to Toronto, there I'll eventually board my direct flight to Incheon Int. where I'll arrive at 17:10. Waiting for me will be my in country coordinator, fellow inbound students from around the world, and my host parents. That's the plan man!
